Co-owner Boris Galić said the company learned valuable lessons from challenges faced during the 2019/2020 season.
"The weather pattern in early 2019 was really adverse for quantity of olives, but the rest of the period helped us to preserve natural quality. Despite small quantities, we are happy to have learned to prepare even better for the next year in order to help our olives give their best," Galić remarked on learning of the award.
The prestigious award was the first win for the oil, which is harvested by hand from groves of 1,600 trees in Croatia by OPG Boris Galić.
"We are very happy to have our extra virgin awarded even in a very difficult year. Great effort from the small team combined with divine locations is a winning combination and we will continue on this path. We hope that in the future more and more people will be able to enjoy the taste and health benefits of Croatian organic olive oils," Galić said.
