Bisceglie Maria Wins Third Straight NYIOOC
Azienda Agricola Bisceglie Maria, from Italy, has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Winning at the NYIOOC is a great satisfaction and we hope to find a buyer to help us import our exceptional oil to the United States. This is the third consecutive year that we have won a Gold Award and we are really satisfied.
Vito Girone said about the award
The Puglia-based company produced 14,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in the 2020/21 crop year from Coratina olives using traditional methods.
"Winning at the NYIOOC is a great satisfaction and we hope to find a buyer to help us import our exceptional oil to the United States," marketing manager Vito Girone said. "This is the third consecutive year that we have won a Gold Award and we are really satisfied."
Azienda Agricola Bisceglie Maria won the Gold Award for its GangaLupo, a medium Coratina. For Girone, the award is an excellent way to finish off what he said was one of the company's best-ever harvests.
"In our case, luckily, we didn't have any major problems," he said. "Indeed, we believe it was one of the best oil campaigns."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
