Situated in the southern Spanish province of Córdoba, the company earned its debut NYIOOC award for its Al-Zahira brand, a medium Hojiblanca.
"Recognition from NYIOOC, the most prestigious international competition, is a brand launch for us," said José Antonio Uceda Delgado, the company's marketing manager.
In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced 3,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil. Uceda Delgado added that producing olive oil is never easy and this year was no exception.
"One of our biggest challenges was finding the best olive to grow for its locality, state of maturity, conservation and water availability," he said.
"Also, the transformation process, following the best quality standards, the motivation and coordination of the team chosen to make the highest quality worldwide are always a challenge," Uceda Delgado added.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is held each spring in New York. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
