Alessandro Musco Achieves Goal With NYIOOC Award
Italian producer Alessandro Musco has won a Silver Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for his N6 Classico brand, a delicate blend.
This award is the achievement of a goal that I have been pursuing for years. It is the result of the commitment, passion and dedication that I have for this job. For me, it represents a new starting point and it is a push to keep going and improving.

The Lazio-based producer produced 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in the 2019/20 season, using traditional harvesting methods.
"This award is the achievement of a goal that I have been pursuing for years," Alessandro Musco said. "It is the result of the commitment, passion and dedication that I have for this job."
"For me, it represents a new starting point and it is a push to keep going and improving," he added.
Among the many challenges that Musco faced in the previous crop year was the weather, which caused him to change his harvesting schedule.
"The main challenge was with the weather," he said. "During the harvest, the temperatures were higher than the seasonal average. For this reason, I had to reorganize the times of collection and delivery of the olives to the mill."
"Another challenge was successfully testing a new milling method that allows the olives to be processed at even lower temperatures," Musco said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
