Al Maida Agricultural Wins 3 Awards at 2021 NYIOOC
Jordanian producer Al Maida Agricultural has won two Gold Awards and a Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 100 tons of extra virgin olive oil from Arbosana, Koroneiki and Arbequina olives using machine methods. Al Maida Agricultural earned the two Gold Awards for a delicate Arbosana and medium Arbequina. The company earned the Silver Award for its delicate Koroneiki.

Bilbeisi said that 2020 was a challenging year for Al Maida Agricultural and other producers in Jordan, both due to the Covid-19 pandemic and tough climatic conditions.
"It was a challenging year not only with the global pandemic but very high temperatures for prolonged periods in our region," she said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
