Ushimado Superior extra virgin olive oil is made from carefully selected and milled Manzanillo and Mission olives in the hills of Ushimado, Japan.
Waichiro Hattori planted olives on April 19, 1942, after cultivating the hills of Ushimado. He believed olives were valuable for food, medicine and lamp fuel. On June 1, 1949, he founded the Nippon Olive Co. and launched his first product: olive manon virgin oil, now known as olive manon olive oil for cosmetics. Today, the company offers over 80 food and cosmetic products, sold primarily at Ushimado Olive Garden, through mail-order, and at various events.
