Sucesores de Hermanos Lopez Wins 3 Awards at 2022 NYIOOC
Andalusian producer Sucesores de Hermanos Lopez has won three Gold Awards at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Based in the olive oil-soaked province of Baena, the company earned its Gold Awards for an organic medium Picuda, an organic medium Hojiblanca and an organic medium Picual.
Since 2015, Sucesores de Hermanos Lopez has earned 13 Gold Awards and two Silver Awards from three different monovarietals at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
"We are satisfied that the work this company has been doing since its origins, both in the field and the mill, is recognized," said Andrea Lopaz Vericat, the company's chief executive.
Despte their sustained success, Lopez Vericat added there were plenty of challenges to overcome along the way.
"The campaign began in a period of drought with the consequent difficulty that this entails for the care of the olive tree and the quality of the oil," she said. "However, with the good work of the workers, we have once again obtained high-quality oils."
