Ante Rupić Awarded for Oblica at World Competition
Croatian producer Ante Rupić from Croatia has won a Gold Award at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
The award we got for our oil means a lot to our family farm. It is an acknowledgment of our effort and hard work. It encourages us to continue striving for our oils to be among the best in the world.

The small family farm from Šibenik, in northern Dalmatia, earned its award for a delicate Oblica monovarietal.
"The award we got for our oil means a lot to our family farm," owner Ante Rupić said. "It is an acknowledgement of our effort and hard work. It encourages us to continue striving for our oils to be among the best in the world."
In the 2021/22 crop year, the family farm produced 86 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. For Rupić, this year's award is even more meaningful after the challenging harvest.
"Last year was very demanding in Dalmatia. A deficiency of precipitation in the summer months and extremely high temperatures had a very negative effect on our olive trees," he said. "However, we tried to help them overcome stress and hopefully succeeded."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
