Quinta de Rosmarinus Wins Gold Award at NYIOOC
Portuguese producer Quinta de Rosmarinus has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We feel happy with the award and are encouraged to do even better. Even with a small production, it's always challenging picking all the olives and pressing them quickly.
Herberto Oliveira, owner
In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 170 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Trás-os-Montes from centenary trees using traditional methods. The newly-created company earned its Gold Award for a PDO organic medium blend.
"We feel happy with the award and are encouraged to do even better," owner Herberto Oliveira said. "Every year we try to improve the quality of our extra virgin olive oil. Even with a small production, it's always challenging picking all the olives and pressing them quickly."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
