Pruneti’s Organic Frantoio Awarded at Eighth Consecutive NYIOOC
Italian producer Pruneti has won its eighth award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
Knowing that our commitment is appreciated internationally is an important recognition for all the passion, care and sacrifice we dedicate every day as olive producers.

Located in Tuscany, the perennial NYIOOC winner earned a Gold Award for an organic medium Frantoio. The monovarietal has been awarded every year since 2016 at the competition.
"We have been winning the NYIOOC Gold Award for many years, and it confirms that our excellence is always rewarded," owner Paolo Pruneti said.
"Knowing that our commitment is appreciated internationally is an important recognition for all the passion, care and sacrifice we dedicate every day as olive producers and is a great achievement for all those who work in our company," he added.
Despite the company's sustained success in the competition, Pruneti said it never gets any easier. The climate provided particular challenges to producing award-winning extra virgin olive oil in the previous harvest.
"We definitely have to mention the high temperatures registered during the harvest, which required all of our attention," he said.
"Thanks to the important renovations and improvements done last year to our olive mill, we were perfectly able to face all the troubles, extracting extra virgin olive oils full of amazing aromas and flavors such to be awarded again," Pruneti added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
