Croatian producer OPG Nu has won a Silver Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

We are very proud and extremely happy. This award is a great incentive for the further growth.

In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 500 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Dalmatia using traditional methods. OPG Nu earned the Silver Award for a medium Oblica.

"We are very proud and extremely happy," owner Martina Radovcic said. "This award is a great incentive for the further growth."

For the producers behind OPG Nu, the award is especially gratifying after the Covid-19 pandemic decimated their olive oil sales.

"Our biggest challenge was the lack of sales because of Covid-19 pandemic, with the ban on traveling and lack of tourists," Radovcic said

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
