Mallorca’s Oli de Santanyi Triumphs at World Competition

9 months agoBy OOT Staff

Spanish producer Oli de Santanyi has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

This award is wonderful news and a great confirmation of our work in the olive grove and mill... The prestigious award generates recognition and confidence in our brand.

Dirk Müller-Busch, owner

Based in Mallorca, in the Balearic Islands off Spain's eastern coast, the company earned its fourth Gold Award for an organic medium-intensity blend of Arbequina, Empeltre and Pical olives. Since 2003, the three varieties have made up the Aceite de Mallorca PDO.

"This award is wonderful news and a great confirmation of our work in the olive grove and mill," owner Dirk Müller-Busch said. "We will integrate this great success into our advertising activities this year. The prestigious award generates recognition and confidence in our brand."

He added that this year's award is especially gratifying after the company overcame the island's ongoing drought to produce its award-winning extra virgin olive oil.

"The lack of rainfall throughout the year posed a great challenge and required additional attention," Müller-Busch said. "As a result, we are even more satisfied with the healthy olives from the harvest and the usual excellent quality again this year."
