Oli Cometes Wins Debut Award at 2024 NYIOOC

Spanish producer Oli Cometes has won a Silver Award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

It is an honor to have received a Silver Award. For our team, it is a reward for the effort, dedication and love that we put into producing an organic and biodynamic oil of the highest quality. It is also a very important recognition at an international level.

Situated in Catalonia, the company earned its debut award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition for an organic, delicate Arbequina.

"It is an honor to have received a Silver Award," said owner Martin Gonzalez Meyer. "For our team, it is a reward for the effort, dedication and love that we put into producing an organic and biodynamic oil of the highest quality. It is also a very important recognition at an international level."

In the 2023/24 crop year, Oli Cometes produced 2,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.

"The 2023 harvest was a very scarce olive harvest due to the drought and high temperatures since our olive grove is not irrigated," Gonzalez said. "This year a very low quantity was harvested, but the oil obtained has been of high quality."
