Mudrina Weathers Tough Season to Win Gold
Croatian producer Mudrina has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
Mudrina olive oil comes from Dalmatia, an area of pure nature and great biodiversity... This year, Dalmatian producers are participating in an exhibition in New York with 51 brands to promote the region; we are happy to be participating with a Gold Award.
Željko Kolar said about the award
In the 2020/21 crop year, the company produced 500 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Dalmatia from Oblica and Krvavica olives using traditional methods. Mudrina earned the Gold Award for its medium blend.
"Mudrina olive oil comes from Dalmatia, an area of pure nature and great biodiversity," owner Željko Kolar said. "This is home to Krka National Park, Kornati National Park and Vrana Lake Nature Park."
"This year, Dalmatian producers are participating in an exhibition in New York with 51 brands to promote the region; we are happy to be participating with a Gold Award," he added.
Kolar was especially proud of the Gold Award after successfully weathering a difficult climate and the Covid-19 pandemic in the 2020 harvest.
"After the rain in June, other weather challenges and the threat of the coronavirus, we were able to transform and store excellent olive oil," he said. "This year, we are especially happy about that."
