Masseria dei Nunzi Wins Two More at World Competition

The southern Italian producer, Masseria dei Nunzi, received two awards for the second-consecutive year at the 2022 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

Located in Campania, the producer earned a Gold Award for its Oleum San Giorgio brand, a medium Ortice, and a Silver Award for its Terra Oleum brand, a medium blend.

"The NYIOOC is the largest and most prestigious international olive oil quality competition," owner Barbara Bibbò said. "Receiving this award was really important for us," she added. "It is a way to show our attention and care at each stage and the determination with which we carry out our work. We are immensely proud of it."

In the 2021/22 crop year, the company produced 2,100 liters of extra virgin olive oil from Leccino and Ortice olives using traditional methods.

Bibbò described her team's "heroic" efforts during the past harvest, which faced plenty of climatic challenges.

"Despite this, the harvest is a pleasant moment for us and a way to express passion and love for our work," she added.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
