Fattoria Ramerino Celebrate Two Golds at 2020 NYIOOC

4 years agoBy OOT Staff

Italian producer Fattoria Ramerino took home two Gold Awards for an organic monovarietal and blend at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

The 2019 harvest has not been easy, as is often the case in recent years. The production of quality organic extra virgin olive oil in 2019, especially in my area, has been more complicated and expensive than in other years. While managing to achieve quality, the quantity was rather poor.

Filippo Alampi, owner

Based in the renowned olive oil region of Tuscany, the company crafts its oils using solely traditional methods.

Fattoria Ramerino received the awards for its Guadagnolo Primus, an organic medium blend, and Cultivar Frantoio, an organic robust monovarietal.

"The awards received at the NYIOOC make us proud and confirm that the company has been heading on the right path for many years," owner Filippo Alampi said.

However, the 2019/20 season was marked by significant challenges, Alampi added after receiving news of the award.

"The 2019 harvest has not been easy, as is often the case in recent years," he said. "The production of quality organic extra virgin olive oil in 2019, especially in my area, has been more complicated and expensive than in other years. While managing to achieve quality, the quantity was rather poor."
