Domaine Petricajola Owner ‘Proud’ of First NYIOOC Win
Domaine Petricajola from France has won a Gold Award at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are happy and proud to have won at the NYIOCC on our first try. This award is the consecration of 15 years of work, always seeking to obtain the best possible oil without compromising on quality and paying permanent attention to detail.
Félicien Luciani, owner
The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in Corsica from Frantoio olives using traditional methods. Domaine Petricajola earned its first-ever Gold Award for an organic medium monovarietal.
"We are happy and proud to have won at the NYIOCC on our first try," owner Félicien Luciani said. "This award is the consecration of 15 years of work, always seeking to obtain the best possible oil without compromising on quality and paying permanent attention to detail."
Luciani added that every year presents its own unique challenges to organic farmers and emphasized that 2020 was no exception.
"For this harvest, as for the previous ones in organic farming, each year is a challenge for us," he said. "You have to constantly adapt and know how to renew your techniques, always respecting nature and the olive tree."
