Based in Puglia, the company earned the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition award for a medium-intensity Coratina. The company has won six awards at the competition since 2018.
"Winning a Gold Award once again at this year's NYIOOC means a lot to all of us on the De Robertis family estate," co-owner Paolo Milicic said. "We are pleased to see that our hard work and passion for producing a top-notch extra virgin olive oil is recognized among the top olive oil experts."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 25,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"The challenge we faced this last harvest was water shortages in our region," Milicic said. "However, we were fortunate to have our own water supply and ensured that each tree received the correct amount of water throughout the year."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
