The Jordanian producer earned two Gold Awards for a medium-intensity Arbosana and its Limited Edition Press brand, a medium Arbequina. Al-Maida also earned a Silver Award for a separate medium Arbequina.
"To win at the most prestigious competition in the world is a thrill. This is our third year entering and winning at the NYIOOC, and it does not fail to make us proud," co-owner Amelia Bilbeisi said. "It helps us to continue to dream and reminds us that quality is paramount."
The company previously earned three at the 2021 and 2022 editions of the NYIOOC.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Al-Maida Agricultural produced 100 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Bilbeisi cited the erratic climate as the company's main challenge.
"We faced unexpected weather conditions of unprecedented high temperatures," she said.
