The olives for Olio Gorgone are cultivated organically and still picked as it was originally done: by hand. Olio Gorgone is characterized by tradition and embraces modern techniques and processes to keep the oil’s taste at its absolute best. Gorgone EVOO is created using a modern oil mill and the most recently developed pressing techniques.
Gorgone EVOO is made from the cultivar, Crastu, an ancient cultivar from Sicily that, despite its exceptional taste attributes, has been cultivated less and less often in modern times due to its small yield rate. The aim of our company is to spread awareness of this particular cultivar beyond its small patch of land, to halt the disappearance of it and allow consumers to appreciate its quality.
