Castel Ruggero is an ancient farm, the closest farm to Florence inside the Chianti Classico area. Already in the Renaissance, Luigi Alamanni was cultivating olives in Castel Ruggero, following modern procedures for the times that allowed him to study the plants and their behavior. That was possible thanks to the exceptional sun exposure and soil of the farm. We now use the same hills to make extremely high-quality olive oils, certified as among the best of the Chianti Classico in Tuscany.
