The company produce 3,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil from 2,000 Istrian Bjelica olive trees using traditional methods this year.
Yields were disappointing, but quality was high, during the 2019/2020 season, company owner DraženČerneka said when he learned of the win today.
"The 2019 harvest in Istria was one of the worst years in terms of quantity, but on the other hand we are satisfied with the quality of the oil, which we have proven with numerous awards this year," Černeka said.
The winning oil was Černeka, a medium-intensity Istrian Bjelica.
