3 years agoBy OOT Staff

Italian producer Sergio Delle Monache has won three Gold Awards at the 2021 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

Undoubtedly participating in and winning this competition for several years now is a beautiful goal that makes us proud and always pushes us to aim for quality. Furthermore, the NYIOOC also allows our company to grow, opening us up more and more to the foreign market, and to have greater visibility at an international level.

Pietro Re, CEO

The company produces organic extra virgin olive oil in Lazio from a blend of olives using methods. Sergio Delle Monache earned the three Gold Awards for its Tamia brand: Bronze, a medium blend, Gold Organic, also a medium blend, and an organic robust Caninese.

"Undoubtedly participating in and winning this competition for several years now is a beautiful goal that makes us proud and always pushes us to aim for quality," Pietro Re, the company's CEO, said. "Furthermore, the NYIOOC also allows our company to grow, opening us up more and more to the foreign market, and to have greater visibility at an international level."

This year's awards from the NYIOOC come after a challenging but ultimately fruitful harvest for the producers behind Sergio Delle Monache, in which the Covid-19 pandemic provided plenty of obstacles to overcome.

"Despite the pandemic situation, we managed to obtain good results from the 2020/21 harvest," Re said. "We have continued to maintain our very high standards and all safety precautions and this has allowed us to have very balanced extra virgin olive oils that are appreciated by all our customers."
