"We are thrilled to win Gold and proud to be listed among so many of our friends and fellow California producers," co-owner Kathryn Tomajan said.
Fat Gold produced 2,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil in California in the 2019/20 season using traditional methods.
Tomajan said that 2019 came with a bumper crop for the company, a welcome reprieve after a tough harvest in 2018.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
