CBIO Jaoude Awarded Gold at 2024 NYIOOC

Lebanese producer CBIO Jaoude has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.

The company, which planted Lebanon's first intensive olive grove, earned its debut World Competition award for an organic medium-intensity Arbequina.

"Winning a Gold Award will have several positive implications for our company," said Charbel Jaoude, the company's chief executive. "An award provides a powerful marketing tool, increases sales, opens new markets and increases our distribution network. It gives us a competitive edge over other brands."

In the 2023/24 crop year, CBIO Jaoude produced 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using machine methods.

"Harvesting olives, particularly for high-quality ultra premium extra virgin olive oil, is labor-intensive," Jaoude said. "This can lead to high labor costs and challenges in sourcing skilled labor."
