Azienda Agricola Maselli Victorious at Olive Oil Awards
A monovarietal extra virgin olive oil by Italian producer Azienda Agricola Maselli won a Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
This prestigious award will push us to continue in our project of recovery and enhancement of our olive growing by combining tradition and innovation!
Andrea Pezzolla said about the award
The Puglia-based company battled Xylella fastidiosa during the season, but emerged victorious with a win for its robust Monovarietale Coratina in the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest, said CEO Andrea Pezzolla.
"Despite the numerous issues that the Apulian olive growing is facing due to the advance of Xylella fastidiosa -- the largest plant disease that has ever affected the global olive growing industry -- the 2019 olive oil campaign has proved to be excellent in terms of quality and quantity," Pezzolla said.
Pezzolla noted that it was gratifying to be recognized for the company's hard work.
"Receiving this award is a great achievement for our company after years of hard work and commitment. This prestigious award will push us to continue in our project of recovery and enhancement of our olive growing by combining tradition and innovation!" she said.
