The Istrian producer earned its fourth-consecutive Gold Award for its medium-intensity Coratina.
"After receiving the Gold Award, we feel extremely proud and satisfied," marketing manager Deni Červar said.
"This award is confirmation that we have achieved top quality after a lot of effort and dedication," he added. "It is an extremely important reference for our company; our customers receive world-class quality products from us."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. "The year was not very kind to us," Červar said.
"The summer drought took its toll, so the crop was a little smaller than expected, but it was definitely better than last year; our trees have a little more fruit than last year," he added. "The Leccino variety felt the drought and other disasters during the growing season the most."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
