Frantoi Cutrera Hail Decade of Success at World Competition

Sicilian producer Frantoi Cutrera has won three Gold Awards at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

It is always a honor to receive such acknowledgements, mostly when these come from international realities. This means that our goal is achieved: knowledge about high quality products it's spreading everyday more and all over the world.

The company earned awards for its medium-intensity Primo DOP Monti Iblei brand, its medium Nocellara Salvatore Cutrera and its Segreto Degli Dei IGP Sicilia, a medium blend. Since 2015, the company has earned 20 awards at the World Competition.

"It is always an honor to receive such acknowledgments, especially when they come from international competitions," chief executive Salvatore Cutrera said. "This means that our goal has been achieved: knowledge about high-quality products is spreading worldwide."

In the 2023/24 crop year, Frantoi Cutrera overcame a range of challenges to produce 500,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil.

"This year's harvest was very challenging for us: weather conditions in Sicily from the beginning of May did not help," Cutrera said. "Despite that, thanks to our experience and determination, we managed to move forward and produced low yields of a consistently high-quality product."
