Olive Plantation Owner ‘Beyond Words’ After Win
California producer the Olive Plantation has won a Silver Award for its medium Bella Di Cerignola monovarietal at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
This was our first milling year on the farm and our first year selling on the weekends along with the wineries in our area. Having customers visit our plantation and producing has been exciting and a huge learning curve. This is a family business and so we enjoyed every aspect of it.
Dave Fenton, Owner
"I'm beyond words! This is a blessing, a gift and our farm is so grateful for the award," owner Dave Fenton said.
The company produces extra virgin olive oil in the United States from the rarer Bella Di Cerignola olive variety, using solely traditional methods.
For Fenton, the award was an ideal start to the enjoyable work he and his family have undertaken at the Olive Plantation.
"This was our first milling year on the farm and our first year selling on the weekends along with the wineries in our area," he said. "Having customers visit our plantation and producing has been exciting and a huge learning curve. This is a family business and so we enjoyed every aspect of it."
