Tenuta Foggiali Overcomes ‘Tough Harvest’ to Win 3 Awards
Tenuta Foggiali has won a Gold and two Silver Awards at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
We are extremely proud as a small family business to receive such recognition by the prestigious NYIOOC for all EVOOs presented.
Antonella Rosati said about the award
Taking silver were Rosati PDO, an organic delicate blend and Rosati Monocultivar, an organic medium Picholine. Gold went to Rosati Fruttato, an organic medium blend.
The company had to work hard to mitigate the effects of adverse weather conditions on the olives, said co-owner Antonella Rosati on hearing of the wins.
A tough harvest indeed. In September the fruits looked fantastic, but the weather conditions changed rapidly with morning fogs. We had to rush in order to hand-pick as many healthy fruits as possible, even from the millennium trees. Thanks to an early harvest & the efforts of the entire team, we managed to still maintain our high-quality standards.

The wins make six NYIOOC awards in total for the company, which farms its olives in Puglia, Italy.
"We are extremely proud as a small family business to receive such recognition by the prestigious NYIOOC for all EVOOs presented. It is for us the most important contest in the olive world. The appreciation of the expert judges is a testament to our dedication. It has always given our EVOOs excellent visibility in the U.S. market and beyond," Rosati said.
