Good Harvest Yields Win for Spain’s Aceite Periana
SCA Olivearer y Frutera San Isidro (Aceite Periana) took a Silver Award at the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.
This award means recognition to all the farmers and workers of our cooperative. On the other hand, it allows us a great opportunity to publicize our legendary olive grove located between the mountains and the Mediterranean sea on the Malaga coast.

The Spanish company was awarded for its El Milenario de Periana, a medium Verdial, at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
"We started the harvest the first week of November, it was characterized by good ripening and fruit quality. Performing the manual harvest at the optimal moment and quickly transporting the olive to keep it fresh is our biggest challenge," said CEO Francisco Alcantara.
The company produced 3,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Andalusia from Verdial olives using traditional methods this year.
"This award means recognition to all the farmers and workers of our cooperative. On the other hand, it allows us a great opportunity to publicize our legendary olive grove located between the mountains and the Mediterranean sea on the Malaga coast," Alcantara said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
