Oleamea Awarded for Outstanding Memeciks

Turkish producer Oleamea has won a Gold and a Silver Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

The company spent the 2019/2020 season working to adapt to new climate patterns, owner Merve Doran said today upon learning about the award.

"The effects of climate change is felt all across our supply chain. We accept it as our new normal. Low yield, lack of rainfall, is all part of it. We just try our best to adapt and keep producing organic, best-quality products for our consumers," Doran said.

The winning oils were two organic medium Memeciks: Oleamea Private Select and Oleamea Premium Everyday.

"We are thrilled winning once again at the NYIOOC. We put hard work in each year to produce the best products (along with meeting organic qualifications.) The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
