Monte do Camelo Triumphs in World Competition
Portuguese producer Monte do Camelo has won a Gold Award at the 2025 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
Situated in Norte Alenetejo, the company earned its fourth-consecutive World Competition accolade for its Tratturo* de Fronteira brand, an organic medium Galega.

"Achieving a Gold Award with this variety in this prestigious competition couldn't make us prouder: our Galega trees are to be congratulated," co-owner Ana Cardoso said.
This year's award was especially gratifying after a challenging harvest, which began with high temperatures and dry weather.

"We work with nature and are therefore conditioned to its will," Carsoso said. "When we started harvesting at the beginning of October, the temperatures were still a little high and the olives a bit dry."
"Then the rain came and reversed this scenario with a fresh, humid end to the harvest and all the challenges this implies," she added.

Monte do Camelo is listed in the Olive Oil Times World Ranking.
