The company employed traditional methods to produce 30,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil in Catalonia from Arbequina olives this year.
The producer benefited from favorable conditions during the season, owner Roger Catà said after receiving news of the award.
"This year has been a good year for the qualities of olive oil, in November it rained a lot and the oil dropped in quality but all of our premium olive oils were harvested in October maintaining our quality," Catà said.
Mas Montseny was awarded the Gold for its Mas Montseny Premium, a medium Arbequina.
"We are very pleased with this [award for our] Arbequina of medium intensity, for us it is a very important recognition and a gateway to the American quality consumer," Catà said.
