LAI Organic Triumph with Koroneiki

Greek producer LAI Organic has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.

Situated near the historic city of Lavrion on the southeastern tip of the Attica peninsula, the company earned its third consecutive NYIOOC accolade for a medium-intensity organic Koroneiki.

"We are extremely proud and justified in our sustained efforts," owner Nikos Lykos said. "We are very happy that we have honored the trust of our customers and are thankful to all the stakeholders who have contributed to this success."

According to Kykos, LAI Organic overcame "intense heat during blooming and prolonged dryness" to produce 2,500 liters of extra virgin olive oil from its modest 650-tree olive grove in the 2023/24 crop year.
