I am very happy. I feel all the sacrifices paid off, mine and my family's.
Lucia Iannotta, CEO, Iannotta
The company produced 20,000 liters of organic extra virgin olive oil in Lazio from 5,000 Frantoio olive trees using traditional farming methods.
"In the countryside, every day is a challenge, every day a thousand difficulties. But every day is also a great satisfaction: the olives enter the mill and I get the best of my products: my oil!" company CEO Lucia Iannota said after receiving news of the award.
The winning oil was Iannotta Olio dal 1952, an organic medium-intensity Frantoio.
"I am very happy. I feel all the sacrifices paid off, mine and my family's," Iannotta said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
