Goldmed Suisse Wins Gold at World Competition
Swiss-Italian producer Goldmed Suisse has earned the industry's most coveted award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
We are so proud to be rewarded with a Gold Award that will help us to communicate to our customers the value of the unique oleocanthal content of OphenOil.

Based in Tuscany, the company earned a Gold Award for its OphenOil brand, a medium blend of Leccino, Dritta, Intosso and Gentile di Chieti olives. OphenOil previously earned a Silver Award in 2020.
"Since our first award in 2020, we have done our best to optimize our cultivation methods as well as milling technology to preserve the high phenol concentrations in our extra virgin olive oil," co-owner Elisabetta Ciccone said.
"We are so proud to be rewarded with a Gold Award that will help us to communicate to our customers the value of the unique oleocanthal content of OphenOil," she added.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Goldmed Suisse produced 2,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"Our commitment started with the recovery of our family heritage – heroic and wild-like olive trees, which had survived challenging climatic conditions – by investing in scientific development and an in vivo medical university test," Ciccone said.
"With these, we produce the best partner, gifted to us by nature, to protect human health, the most important value in life," she added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year's best extra virgin olive oils.
