The Swiss-Italian producer Goldmed Suisse has won a Silver Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
We are very proud to achieve the first international award that pays back our strong commitment.

The company received the award for its Ophenoil brand, an organic medium blend. In the 2019/20 season, Goldmed Suisse produced 2,000 liters organic extra virgin olive oil in Tuscany from Leccino, Dritta, Intosso and Gentile di Chieti olives using traditional methods.
"We are very proud to achieve a first international award that pays back our strong commitment," co-owner Elisabetta Ciccone said. "The brand name is derived from the ancient olive trees located in a small village called Ofena, with a breathtaking landscape. Here, the olives are enriched with polyphenols."
Ciccone added that the award is the culmination of a long learning process.
"This challenge has been accomplished by the aggregation of knowledge, commitment and spirit of innovation to push the available olive trees – many of which were not cultivated far the past 80 years – to start recovering their production capabilities, not just in terms of quantity but also in terms of their oleocanthal concentrations."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
