Giachi Giovanni Makes it 3 at NYIOOC
Giachi Giovanni Srl grabbed its third consecutive Gold Award at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
Winning NYIOOC and being awarded with the Gold Award means a lot to us. It gives us much satisfaction to be recognized for the results of our hard work. It is a feather in our cap, a source of pride and prestige.
Alberto Giachi said about the award
The company produces extra virgin olive oil in Toscana from its 5,000 Frantoio and Moraiolo olive trees using traditional methods.
The 2019/2020 season was marked by significant challenges, the company co-owner Alberto Giachi said after receiving news of the award.
"The 2019 harvest was scarce. We were presented with challenges throughout the year with a certain insect and needed to be very attentive to the trees, treating them with a non-harmful method aimed to protect the fruit. We labored very hard and were diligent to achieve the highest quality product," Giachi said.
The winning oil was Colle Del Giachi D.O.P. Chianti Classico, a robust blend, which also took a Gold Award last year.
"Winning NYIOOC and being awarded with the Gold Award means a lot to us. It gives us much satisfaction to be recognized for the results of our hard work. It is a feather in our cap, a source of pride and prestige," Giachi said.
