Douzenis Olive Oils Claim Second-Straight NYIOOC Win
Douzenis Olive Oils from Greece has won a second-consecutive award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
This is the second year in a row that we have received the Silver Award, and we are excited. This is a great reward for our efforts in a challenging year.

The Peloponnesian producer earned a Silver Award for its Theoni brand, a medium blend of Koroneiki and Manaki olives.
"This is the second year in a row that we have received the Silver Award, and we are excited," marketing manager Konstantina Douzeni said.
"This is a great reward for our efforts in a challenging year," she added. "The NYIOOC raises our company's prestige and gives us the opportunity to promote our products abroad."
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company used traditional methods to produce 4,000 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Still, Douzeni said the company faced plenty of challenges along the way.
"It was a very difficult year for our product globally," she said. "The biggest problem, which will be a permanent challenge for us, is climate change. It affects both the quality and quantity of olive oil. We have to adapt to new environmental conditions promptly and effectively."
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
