Sicily’s Dolceterra Triumphant at World Competition
Dolceterra from Italy has won a Gold Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are enthusiastic and extremely grateful. We want to thank all our employees and craftsmen for giving us the opportunity to participate in this fantastic competition
Alessandro Mascanzoni, marketing manager
The Sicilian producer earned its debut World Competition accolade for a medium-intensity Nocellara Etnea.
"We are enthusiastic and extremely grateful," marketing manager Alessandro Mascanzoni said. "We want to thank all our employees and craftsmen for giving us the opportunity to participate in this fantastic competition."
In the 2023/24 crop year, Dolceterra produced five tons of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.
"The climatic conditions in recent years have become increasingly unpredictable, and this will represent a growing problem over the years," Mascanzoni said.
"Our love and our non-invasive production techniques help us," he added. "We value raw materials with a careful selection of olives and constant care of the work in the mill at all stages of production."
