Corinto Strikes Gold at World Competition
Corinto from Greece has won its premier award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are proud of the Manaki variety that we have been growing for two generations. With hard work we are making it known around the world through this competition.

The Peloponnese-based producer earned a Gold Award for a medium Manaki. "We are proud of the Manaki variety that we have been growing for two generations," co-owner Vlassis Rotziokos said. "With hard work, we are making it known around the world through this competition."
In the 2022/23 crop year, Corinto produced 20 tons of extra virgin olive oil. Like many of his compatriots, Rotziokos enjoyed a fruitful harvest but faced challenges in pursuing award-winning olive oil.
"The biggest challenge we faced was mainly human resources," Rotziokos said. "It is becoming increasingly difficult and complicated to find people to carry out the harvesting of the olives early, on time, to get the results we want."
"Another issue is that with climate change, there is a lack of rain, and this is negatively affecting olive oil production," he added.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
