The Andalusian company earned two Gold Awards for its Consum and Finca Badenes Early Harvest brands, both medium-intensity blends. Since 2018, Aires de Jaén has earned five Gold Awards.
"Our goal is to transmit the culture of extra virgin olive oil beyond our borders, transforming the fruit of the land into the best possible extra virgin olive oil so that it can be enjoyed on tables around the world," owner José Manuel Lopez said.
"Our business model leans towards sustainability, betting on cutting-edge technologies," he added.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Aires de Jaén produced 100,000 liters of Consum and Finca Badenes Early Harvest from Frantoio, Arbequina and Picual olives using traditional methods.
Along with its vertical integration from growing to distribution, Manuel Lopez said exports were becoming increasingly important for the company.
"[We are] one of the largest exporters of olive oil in Andalusia, shipping extra virgin olive oil to more than 50 countries and producing more than 8 million liters of olive oil each year," he said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
