Pagano Bio from Italy has won a Silver Award at the 2024 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

It is always exciting to receive an award, and it motivates the company to improve.

The Sicilian producer earned the award for an organic-medium intensity Biancolilla. The brand previously earned a Silver Award in 2021.

"It is always exciting to receive an award, and it motivates the company to improve," said owner Antonio Giuseppe Pagano.

In the 2023/24 crop year, Pagano Bio produced 8,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods.

"It was fantastic to win the Silver Awards again," Pagano said. "Due to the strong heat, there were problems with the harvest; let's hope for better things for the 2024/25 crop year."

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's preeminent olive oil quality contest. Its annual list of award winners is the authoritative guide to the world's best olive oils and the dedicated producers who craft them.
