Il Cavallino Wins Gold in New York
Italian producer Il Cavallino has won a Gold Award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's largest olive oil quality contest.
We are very happy for the opportunity this award has given us. These awards provide great satisfaction and pay back the work done by all of us during the year.

Based in Tuscany, the company earned its fourth Gold Award at the NYIOOC for its Special Edition brand, a medium-intensity Leccino.
"We are very happy for the opportunity this award has given us," owner Romina Salvadori said. "These awards provide great satisfaction and pay back the work done by all of us during the year."
Like many producers across Italy, Salvadori cited drought as one of the company's most significant challenges in producing extra virgin olive oil in the previous crop year.
"One of the most difficult moments was the period of drought because we were worried about the health of the trees and the production that there would be, but by installing the irrigation system, we solved the problem, and we were satisfied," Salvadori said.
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
