5 years agoBy Olive Oil Times

Azienda Agricola Centonze Antonino struck gold at the 2020 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, the world's most prestigious olive oil quality contest.

I feel so excited and very happy.

Nino Centonze, owner, Azienda Agricola Centonze Antonino.

The Sicily, Italy-baed producer won a Gold Award for its Centonze Case di Latomie P.G.I. Sicily, a medium blend. The company produces extra virgin olive oil from Nocellara del Belice, Biancolilla, and Cerasuola olives using traditional methods.

The impressive win comes despite struggles with low production from the company's 9,500 trees, owner Nino Centonze said after receiving news of the award.

"I feel so excited and very happy," Centonze said.

The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
