The Cretan producer earned a Gold Award for its Pamako Monovarietal Mountain Bio brand, an organic medium Tsounati.
The brand previously earned Gold every year between 2019 and 2021, while its Pamako Mountain Organic Blend earned Gold in 2020 and 2022.
Owner Eftychios Androulakis said he was overwhelmed by happiness at the news of winning another NYIOOC award.
In the 2022/23 crop year, the company produced 6,400 liters of extra virgin olive oil. However, Androulakis said they faced plenty of challenges along the way.
"It was an extremely challenging year as the little rain of the past season and the high numbers of olive fruit flies created huge problems, especially for organic olive oil producers," he said.
"Also, the availability of laborers in the Chania region was lower than ever, making the situation even worse," Androulakis added. "However, we managed to overcome the difficulties for another consecutive year."
