Abruzzo’s Tenuta Masciangelo Awarded in Third Straight NYIOOC
Tenuta Masciangelo from Italy has won its fifth award at the 2023 NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition.
This award has an even more significant value, and we are very proud of it, both me as the owner and all my staff, whom I thank.

The Abruzzo-based producer earned a Gold Award for its Linea Maria brand, a medium blend.
"Like we've said before, this award has an even more significant value, and we are very proud of it, both me as the owner and all my staff, whom I thank," owner Ruggero Masciangelo said.
Linea Maria previously earned a Gold Award in 2021 and a Silver Award in 2022. Linea Wellness, a separate brand, earned Gold in 2021 too.
In the 2022/23 crop year, Tenuta Masciangelo produced 5,000 liters of extra virgin olive oil using traditional methods. Masciangelo said climate change continues to make olive oil production increasingly difficult in Abruzzo.
"It has been a demanding year," he said. "Because of climate change, it is becoming increasingly difficult to safeguard production both in quantity and in quality."
Held each spring in New York, the NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest. Its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
