The company employs traditional methods to produce extra virgin olive oil in California from 4,800 Leccino, Picual and Lucca olive trees. Last season's production was 3,000 liters.
Company owners Greg and Cindy Traynor noted challenges related to the coronavirus crisis but called the season a success.
"With no crop in 2018, 2019 has been a remarkable season. We were the first non-European producer to win the Marco Mugelli award. Although Covid-19 required us to close our tasting room, we have appreciated the online support of our business," the Traynors said.
Receiving awards were 43 Ranch Helen's Blend and the robust 43 Ranch Picual. Both oils also won in 2018.
"We appreciate the recognition of our hard work and attention to detail by NYIOOC’s highly qualified panel of judges," the Traynors said.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition, held each spring in New York, is the world's largest and most prestigious olive oil contest and its annual listing of award winners is considered the authoritative guide to the year’s best extra virgin olive oils.
