Monteoliva Oro Pajarero
This name came about due to all kinds of native birds being interested in its fruit. A large and sweet olive that ripens early. It is harvested and processed in the first fortnight of October. It is fruity and of medium intensity on the nose, with dried and ripe fruit aromas such as banana. It is recommended to enjoy as is, on toast or as a dressing for fresh dishes, such as salads or a good Cordoba-style salmorejo soup.
Where to Find
Founded in 1949 by a small group of farmers, the Virgen de la Sierra de Cabra Olive Growers Cooperative has slightly more than 1,000 members with olive groves distributed across small farms located mostly in the Subbética Cordobesa region. Heir to a rich olive-growing tradition, Cabra is considered the geographical center of Andalusia. Its EVOOs are obtained from a wide variety of olives, which are sold under the brands Monteoliva and Monteoliva Oro, the latter of which includes the Baena PDO. Producer Profile
